obsessed

i have a bad obsession.

i've always had this obsession.

and today i found one that i couldnt resist.

i am obsessed with..

i ordered this beauty today.

only 5-10 business days until i receive her.

i cannot wait.

raw talent

while landon and i were headed to dinner last night we passed this clan.

i wish i would've recorded them.

there were lots of people around watching and listening.

they were a hoot.

the music they were playing was literally raw music.

one had a long piece of skinny, rounded wood with a rope tied from end to end.

she would pluck the string and it would make a deep noise.

it was so neat.

i think its so cool that people come up with these simple, yet amazing talents.

they all had a part.

with out one person, it wouldnt have sounded the same.

and from what i saw, every instrument could've been simply hand made.

it is amazing.

i just added a lot of the blogs i follow on the right of this page.

i havent quite finished adding all of them.

i did realize that i follow a lot of blogs.

and every blog i follow, i love.

seriously, i look at every blog almost every day.

they are so fun and inspiring for me.

i am adding all of the blogs i follow because i think thats the joy of the blogging world.

one blog always leads to another.

and the more blogs, the more fun.

 i hope you enjoy them just as much as i do.

yesterday i started this big long post.

long enough that i didnt finish.

but i have to finish because i really want it to be a part of this blog.

not like any of you will care about it.

but i do plan on someday, turning my blog in to one of those blog scrapbook-book thingys.

and the long post is about an event that i really want in there.

but anywho..

last night land and i went on a hunt.

 $5 or less shirt/tank hunt.

first was tjmaxx.

nothing.

i have a hard time at those stores.

something about the unorganized jumble bumble going on.

second was target.

nothing good in the sale section.

some pretty cute things for full price but for some reason $12.99 isnt working for me.

third was shopko.

i think yesterday was the 2nd time i have been there in my entire life.

i was disappointed.

which is probably why i dont go there.

their 'juniors' section,
although i'm not a junior but the rest of their clothes were for 'matured ladies'

was itty bitty.

and although everything in the store says sale, it still isnt extremely cheap.

which is totally what i'm looking for.

but..of course there was nothing.

i decided that i'm going to open up a $2.00 store.

full of plain tanks and t's of all different fabrics.

wouldnt that be cool?

i know lots of people would enjoy that.

if you see any great sales out there, or any cheap tanks or t's please let me know.

i would highly appreciate it :)

wee ones

today i went on a walk with this cute gal.

"can i take a picture of you?" i asked while walking.

she gave one look at me, glared, then turned back around.

how harmful can one picture be?

i guess for a kid, one picture may seem like it takes a decade to take or something..

then i swear, once you put your camera away they look at you and start doing all these cute poses.  

what the heck! 

its not even worth taking your camera out again because you know by that time, they'll have moved on to the next fun thing and wont want anything to do with a picture.

but kids.

kids.

kids.

they just seem to melt peoples hearts.

i'm pretty sure i've blogged about this before. 

but hey, i love kids.

on another note, can you believe that its already june?

i am shocked.

 one of the kids i nanny said to me today  

keeping in mind that for kids, summer has only been going for about 3 days now

"summer has already been going by so fast!"

its so true though! 

june, july & august. 

my favorite months of the year.

they come and go way too quickly.

i guess we will all enjoy summer while we can.

memorial day

i hope everyone had a great memorial day.

i know i did.

my mom took land and i to this yummy restaurant.

 my favorite is the sunset roll.

it tastes so fresh, especially with the lemon on top.

after lunch we went to the pool.

finally a memorial day that was in the high 70's.

it was nice to just relax and read a good book.

that evening we just laid around doing pretty much nothing.

its one of my favorite things to do :)

nothings better than having nothing to do.

ha, seriously though. 

you must agree with me..?

i started my day off by re-doing another tank.

another tank from target.

this time on sale for only $2.50

and i got my extra fabric from a dress that my sister no longer wanted.

heres the tank before..

 

i then cut out a piece of fabric the width i wanted it.

i pinned the strip of fabric to the tank then started to sew.

i did a random design down the side of the tank, it turned out looking great.

once i finished with that part, it wasnt enough so i added little fabric squares.

how to make fabric squares:

1. cut out a square with rounded edges however big you'd like

2. fold the square, corner to corner

3. fold the piece in half, once again

4. then squish the folded fabric so that its flat and kind of looks like a flower

5. either hand sew or use a sewing machine in the middle of the squished fabric square so that it is in tact. 

i then hand sewed the little square flowers to the tank where i wanted them.

the bright colors are perfect.

for some reason i've been obsessed with tank tops lately..

maybe its because i can find them really cheap.
